COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our Client is well a high profile established and successful manufacturing business.
This role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced purchaser.
The successful candidate will liaise with the MD CD, Production, stores and the Design department in relation to Updates & Stock, Invoices, Shortages & Delays, Costs, and Requestions.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Processing design department requisitions and creating / placings orders via Pegasus
• Conducting costing reviews/analysis to ensure cost effectiveness / Best value
• Monitoring and maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels and ordering as required
• Identifying purchasing trends and establishing where bulk buying or new suppliers may be the best option for the company
• Updating and amending order delivery dates as required (via Pegasus)
• Ensuring all ‘goods delivery notes’ are accurately logged via Pegasus on a daily basis
• Producing weekly ‘expected goods in’ reports
• Communicating delayed arrival of goods to relevant people and projects
• Track all glass, aluminium profiles and accessories against expected delivery times and coordinate the return of stillages to suppliers
• Take the lead in providing accurate stock take information
• Attending production meeting and disseminating relevant information
• Updating supplier lists, stock list and prices (via Pegasus)
• Communicating with suppliers to establish real time information about specific orders and chasing overdue orders where necessary
• Booking stock in and out
• Effectively maintain purchasing related filing systems / databases
• Updating Pegasus with new lines or products as required
• Supporting business Manager with auditing supply chains, ensuring suppliers comply with company QA standards and processes, and where necessary collating evidence to prove compliance
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
• It would be advantageous but not essential, to hold a business, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management related qualification
• It would also be advantageous to possess membership status of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
• Demonstrable experience in a purchasing or supply chain role/environment
• Knowledge of customer needs and requirements (internal and external)
• It would be advantageous to have a some understanding of materials, manufacturing and planning processes
• Strong numeracy skills and analytical ability
• Proficient knowledge and application of Pegasus, or similar ERP systems, web-based data, data management and analysis
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to persuade, influence and, when appropriate, challenge with tact and diplomacy
• Confident networking skills and the ability to quickly form and maintain effective relationships
• Convincing communication style with a broad variety of hierarchies, functions and backgrounds of people
• Strong time management skills with the ability to deliver to deadlinesDetails of Package: £26,000 to £35,000 PA (Depending on experience) + Benefits, inc. Discretionary end of year bonus.
8am to 4.30 Mon-Thurs and 8am to 3.30 on Fridays
