- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:Our Client is well established and growing business and a leader in their field.This role represents an excellent career opportunity for a driven and ambitious Commercial Engineering Manager.Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and adjusting assembly tools/jigs, and carrying out upgrades.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Perform effective reactive tooling maintenance on assembly jigs and occasionally press/stamping tools following the established escalation procedure at all times.• Perform scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance in order to minimise unplanned downtime and quality concerns.• Work with the Methods Engineers to produce effective maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.• Liaise with Production and Quality departments to ensure machine availability to build quality parts.• Controlling and sourcing maintenance tools, equipment and spares.• Documenting breakdowns; identifying route cause and remedial action to help identify and resolve reoccurring issues.
NB: Initially working Days/2 shifts, but will eventually go on to a three shift system.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:• Logical problem solver with excellent fault-finding abilities.• Effective Communicator, able to report across all levels.• Have experience on high-speed production equipment, preferably in an automotive environment.• Have knowledge of lean manufacturing.• Time-served.
