- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:We are seeking to recruit an experienced Sores & Improvements Manager. Our client is a long established and growing UK manufacturing sector leader who have built successful and ever growing customer relationships across a number of sectors. They design and manufacture a diverse range of products, with contract values in the millionsThis is an exciting opportunity for a career minded Supply Chain professional who wants to utilise their skills and experience and develop further.Providing strong management and leadership the successful candidate will develop the logistics, inventory and materials function helping to create added value processes across stock control, planning and logistics
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Monitor/manage and report on Stores performance within agreed formats and timescales• Achieving accurate inventory management of incoming materials.• Contributing strongly to material forecasting, planning & logistics• Accurate booking in /identification/ storage of stock• Supporting the implementation of MRP/Kanban• Health & Safety ensuring the welfare of all staff, ensuring that the work place & work practices deliver Health & Safety best practice• Maintain quality systems• Material Performance analysis and reporting against KPIs
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:Essential:• Strong management and leadership experience gained within a fast paced Warehouse/Stores department• Previous experience of managing a manufacturing based operation• Good attention to detail• Ability to analyse data and interpret the information effectively• Ability to identify departmental needs and implement Stores improvements where necessary.• IT Literate (Microsoft Office / Excel and WMS)• Strong People Management, mentoring, coaching and team skills• Effective communication and resource allocation skills• Strong organisation and problem solving skills• Proven track record in improving efficiencies and driving improvements with the use of Lean principles and their implementationDesirable:• The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) UK qualification• The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) UK qualification• Management/Supply Chain or other professional development qualifications
