Project Engineer

Company Description, Profile and Scope of Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to work with an established sector leader, and rapidly growing Stockton based company, providing cutting edge industrial services.

The successful candidate will provide project support to the Sales function/Engineer in winning business from customers and prospects within a given sales territory. The Project Engineer is responsible for initial technical valuation of incoming enquiries, quote preparation, price negotiation and closing sales opportunities together with the Sales Engineer. The Project Engineer shall be responsible for preparing and managing timing plans, completing production documentation packs, approving master models and where applicable authorising dispatch of finish goods.

• Enjoys speaking with customers and building long term relationships by phone and face to face through visits.
• Enjoys working closely with their dedicated Sales Engineer and a willingness to support them when on the road or visiting customers.
• Good administrative skills and an eye for detail, including Good IT skills including Excel etc.
• Strong technical appreciation of prototyping methods, materials, benefits and limitations.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve.
• Team player who is willing to help and support others in the wider team.
• Happy to work extra hours to get the job done.
• A mature outlook, good leadership skills.
• Thrives when working in a high pace and often stressful environment where demands are high.
• Confirming payment terms prior to order acceptance according to Paragon guidelines.
• Completing production documentation packs including route sheets and supporting documentation.
• Generating and managing timing plans where applicable.
• Being in regular contact with customers.
• Following up quotes and chasing orders when requested by Sales Engineer.
• Approving master models with model maker.
• Approving castings with production when necessary.
• Mainly office based but occasional off site visits as required to support customer demands.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and attributes:

Previous experience of Project Engineering within a fast paced engineering, or manufacturing sales/commercial environment.

Up to £34,000 + Bonus
