- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:Our client is a world class, award winning, long established and growing manufacturing business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant. Due to continued growth, they are recruiting Two Mechanically Biased Maintenance/Craft Technicians, one to work on Dayshift and one to work a shift pattern (See below for DTLS).Mechanically Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician/Craft Technician, You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance work on site and for providing first hand technical diagnosis and correction of maintenance problems to maintain the assets and site in a safe and efficient operational condition. You will be organised, self-motivated and able to work without technical supervision where required. You will also be required to prioritise and co-ordinate work.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades and installation.• Small pipework modifications• Maintenance on Safety Instrumented Systems• Problem solving and diagnostic checks on mechanical and process equipment recommending changes and improvements to the operational systems.• Carryout electrical isolations and restorations of medium and low voltage electrical equipment• Carry out work in compliance with cGMP standards• Raise purchase order requisitions• Requisition and collect stores materials as required• Conduct inspections and carry out preventative maintenance activity• Complete small projects as required• Communicate, liaise and co-ordinate work activities with contractors, suppliers and service providers• Assist in development of Develop maintenance procedures• Involvement in the training and development of apprentices where required
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:ESSENTIAL• Qualified to a minimum of ONC Level or similar in Engineering/Time served/apprenticed)• HND/HNC would be advantageous, but not essential• Experience of electrical isolations and restorations of medium and low voltage electrical equipment• Recognised craft apprenticeship in core discipline• Good diagnostic skills• Awareness of maintenance requirements of Safety Instrumented Systems• Ability to work unsupervised under own initiative• Able to work effectively to deadlines
PREFERRED NOT ESSENTIAL• COMAH Site experience would be advantage• Knowledge of DSEAR, and ATEX would be advantageous• Experienced gained within a Process, chemical, pharmaceutical environment would be advantageous• Knowledge/experience of welding / pipefitting experience (Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel)• Knowledge/Experience relating to Steam Boiler• Fire Water Protection Systems• Experience in working with glass lined vessels, pressure systems, mechanical sealing systems, filter and dryer systems, agitation systems, vacuum pumps, vessel jacket heating, steam pressure systems, chilling plant and utilities
Details of Package: *Day Shift Competative Salary + Benefits + Overtime (8am to 4pm standard 37.5 hour week)*Shift Role Competative Salary + Benefits + Overtime (2 days 2 nights on 12 hour shifts, then 4 days off (5 shift pattern)
