- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE: Software Development LeadOur client is a world class leader, and a growing technologies manufacturing business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant. They produce state-of-the-art engineered solutions for Industrial, scientific, and medical applications. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to recruit a Lead Software Development Engineer (experience gained in a lead role / ability to take the lead would be beneficial)The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting innovative software tools used in the semiconductor industry. You will also be responsible for the resource planning within the SW team including subcontracting.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Software Development Engineer / Lead• Work with program managers to design software and create implementable specifications and tasks at product and roadmap level• Design and develop OO modules in company tool operating software.• Develop fully working software modules including test-cases.• Support and improve existing software in the field.• Collaborate with the application, field support and production teams.• Work with subcontractors where necessary, providing direction, support and documentation• Communicate clearly and concisely (in English).
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Software Development Engineer / Lead• B.A. or B.Sc degree in Computer Science• Highly competent in writing in C# / .Net• Experience in mixed C++ and managed code• Experience with industry standard tools such as: MS Visual Studio 2017+, Git, TFS/Dev Ops.• Effective communication and interpersonal skillsKNOWLEDGE IN ONE, OR MORE, OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS WOULD BE A DISTINCT ADVANTAGE:• Semiconductors industry experience; Agile development; Protocols• SECS/GEM; gRPC; WCF; MQTT; Image processing of scientific images; Code Coverage analysis• Performance optimization; Automation and COM; CUDA for data processing
Details of Packages: Up to £70,000 PA (Depending Experience) + Performance related bonus + BenefitsNB: There may be some flexibility on working hours around core hours Start can be anywhere from 7-9am and the earliest finish is 4pm with flexibility when requested.
