- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:This is an excellent opportunity with a UK leading technology innovation business, focused on wind, wave and tidal energy. We are currently looking for an Instrumentation Engineer. They develop, prove and de-risk promising new technologies and bring them to market.Accountable for managing the instrumentation and calibration requirements of the test facility assets, as well as client device testing and the subsequent analysis and reporting of resulting test data.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Manage the instrumentation and calibration requirements within the facilities to ensure testing processes meet customer requirements and accreditation standards• Responsible for ensuring the setup of test pieces and supporting equipment/systems within the facility and on site are to the required standards• Provide instrumentation, data logging and data analysis skills as necessary to the commercial operations and research activities including, but not limited to, testing, design, development, tender preparation/evaluation, budget preparation/review and customer and supplier interface• Support the application of the test process to a given test and project plan to meeting customer expectations• Ensure design and project records relating to Instrumentation, calibration, test activities and project work are maintained in accordance with company processes and procedures• Develop and disseminate engineering knowledge to key stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:• Educated to at least degree level in a relevant discipline• Chartered Engineer or equivalent would be beneficial• Substantial experience of electrical, mechanical, electronic, instrumentation and data logging equipment• Knowledge of Scada/Diadem/LABview and Matlab would be preferable• Familiar with advanced instrumentation including strain gauges, load cells and accelerometers etc. and associated engineering software in an inter-disciplinary project setting
