- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:Our client is an established global manufacturing company. They make strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant and are an acknowledged leader in their field.The successful candidate will have an either and Electrical or Mechanical grounding in Design, and will be experienced be experienced and heavily involved in Electrical system design. You will also deliver improvements to existing products. You will support colleagues and other departments with diagnostics and fault finding of electrical systems and work closely on electrification of AWP equipment and assist colleagues with new product introductions and validations. You will also be directly involved in the creation and validation of electrical and system drawings for new products and conversions of existing products.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide engineering advice and support to all departments in organisation with regards to electrical issues.• Validation and improvement of Component Drawings & Specifications to ensure optimum quality and cost• Work 'hands on' in data gathering and providing Purchasing / Commodities and “hands on” support in testing & implementation of improvement activities.• Validation and testing new machines and products to meet design intent and feedback• Develop test plans and software parameters for launch projects• Preparation of layout, assembly, and detail drawings in 2D and 3D using Solidworks and autoCAD• Preparation of electrical schematics and specifications.• Specification and procurement support of third-party equipment and components.• Assembly / validation of prototype electrical and mechanical systems.• Ensuring systems compliance with relevant standards.• Preparation of Designers Risk Assessments.• Support in the Preparation of manuals.• Assisting with manufacturing solutions within the business.• Offer a technical backup service to Sales, Projects, Design, Manufacturing and Service departments• Supporting Projects with implementation of technology.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:• Preferably educated to degree level in Electrical or Mechanical (with electrical Experience) Engineering, but candidates with similar qualifications or strong relevant experience will also be considered.• Competent in the use of / Working knowledge of Solidworks• The ability to interpret and provide Engineering instructions & drawings.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Demonstrate methodical approach with accuracy & attention to detail• Understanding of systems design including hydraulic would be advantageous• Capable of working to planned & agreed schedules and timescales.Details of Package: 37,000 to 42,000 PA (Dep. on Exp.) + Benefits
