- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:Our client is a world class, award winning, established and growing engineering/manufacturing business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant.Due to continued growth, they are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager, but will consider applications from Senior Quality Engineers seeking a Management role.The successful candidate will be looking to develop their career further and will lead and build a quality team across three divisions within the business. A key initial focus of the role will be rewriting significant areas of the current ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management system over a period of 12 – 18 months to co-inside with a newly implemented MRP system.The successful candidate will be from a multi-disciplined manufacturing background and will have built up their experience as a senior quality engineer or quality manager over no less than a 3-5 year period. The role requires the individual to ensure that the company operates in line with ISO 9001:2015 quality standard whilst manufacturing products across 3 individual business units, supplying to companies across a variety of market sectors. The individual will be required to gain a sound understanding of each core business unit.As part of the role the successful candidate is to provide leadership for the development of an environment focused on quality. Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Operators to drive & maintain a culture of continuous improvement within their respective areas.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Experience of / Ability to write Quality Management Systems to a minimum standard of ISO 9001:2015• Manage a team of Quality Engineers & Technicians as well as a Health & Safety Officer.• Manage and assist the QA team in the final sign off of components.• Resolution of internal & external quality concerns using 5WHY and 8D investigation techniques, providing corrective and preventative measures.• Drive process improvement & innovation.• Manage & lead an internal auditing programme• Implement procedures set out in the QMS and ensure compliance against ISO 9001:2015.• Develop & maintain controls & documentation procedures.• Develop & maintain KPIs for each of the operational areas.• Develop & maintain company training records.• Work alongside the company’s external SHE advisor to ensure compliance and the safe wellbeing of all employees.• Develop & implement reports to present to the Senior Management Team (SMT).
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:• Previous experience of writing Quality Management Systems to a minimum standard of ISO 9001:2015 (Essential)• Minimum requirement of HNC or HND.• Six sigma holder would be advantageous.• People management, supervisory and team leading skills.• The ability to learn and adapt to new systems & processes.• The ability & desire to train for other quality standards such as Aerospace AS9100 / Automotive IATF16949 / Rail TS22163 if required in the future.• The ability to manage a variety of cross functional team members.• Good commercial awareness.• The ability to make crucial decisions in favour of time & cost efficiency without compromising on quality.• Strong, In-depth knowledge of internal auditing• Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.• The ability to lead & motivate a team, facilitate change and solve problems• Experience of AS9100 / IATF16949 or TS22163 standards would be beneficial but not essential.
Details of Package: £35,000 to £45,000 PA (Depending Experience) + Benefits (8.00am – 16.30pm Mon-Thurs / 8.00am – 15.30pm Fri.) flexibility may be required to meet the demands of the business.
