Description
COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our client is an established award winning manufacturer and leader in their field. Working as a key member of the HR/HSE department and reporting directly to the Senior/Human Resource Manager the successful candidate will have dual role supporting both the Senior/HR Manager and Environmental Manager. With a working knowledge of OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 systems and continuous improvement, you will assist with and actively contribute to the HSE function. Additionally you will support relevant HSE HR related activities.
 
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure HSE improvements are identified, corrective & preventative actions are taken and sustained.
Day to day assistance in all HSE/HR functions (e.g. Investigations, administration, guidance, participation )
Provide ground work for legal issues in both HSE/HR
Interviews and assessment centres, training, appraisal scheme administration
Reward and recognition (suggestions)
Training and development (monitoring/support/control)
Person will be a key member of the HR/HSE department
Compiling & delivering internal H&S training packages
Coordinating employee exposure monitoring programmes
Supervisory/Man Management
H.R. Functions - day to day guidance/support on HR Company policies and procedures (eg. discipline, absence management, return to work interviews, occupational health assessments etc)
Recruitment (interviewing / assessments testing)
Performance management (objective setting / appraisals)
Risk assessments -  auditing existing and developing new ones
COSHH - updating assessments and sourcing new safety data sheets
Root cause investigation with accidents/incidents
Internal auditing
Face fit testing
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
ESSENTIAL 
IOSH/NEBOSH (Health, Safety and Environmental Degree Preferred NOT Essential)
Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 systems
 
PREFERRED NOT ESSENTIAL
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 systems and/or ISO 9001 systems / Supervisory/Man Management
Working in a Manufacturing Environment / Knowledge of cooling towers / legionella control / Responsible Persons training  / Knowledge of REACH Regulations / Principles of lean tools (5S / SOPs etc) / Environmental awareness – e.g. permits / regulations / ISO 14001
