Description
COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our client is a world class, award winning, long established and growing manufacturing business, with strong and sustained investment in people, capital and plant. As part of their expansion, they require a Development Chemist to complement their team. 
 
The successful candidate will develop and demonstrate new processing in the laboratory and translate those processes into one which is capable of running within the SPSL assets at the appropriate scale.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define and/or demonstrate process route(s), draft process outlines and approve PRSs
Develop and optimise processes
Support scale-up, pilot, semi works and commercial manufacture, which may include shift working.
As a SAP user the job holder will be required to carry out assigned SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner
Reports to Group Leader. Regular contact with Lab Project Manager and/or PPG Manager
Prepare interim and final reports and communicate as and when required with customers
Close contact with Hazard Evaluation, ADG, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing
Good knowledge of plant based unit operations and the application of techniques such as BRITEST to improve processes.
Reports to Group Leader. Regular contact with Lab Project Manager and/or PPG Manager
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Minimum: good honours degree in a relevant chemical discipline
Preferably PhD in synthetic organic chemistry
Several years R&D experience
Preferably Working knowledge of cGMP
Demonstrable experience 
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent laboratory skills
Good knowledge of IT
