- COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:Our Client is well established multi million pound manufacturing business and world leader in their field.This role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Business Applications Manager.Working in largely antonymous manner, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance and development activities for business applications. The position combines managerial responsibilities with in-depth, hands-on technical expertise, and is responsible for continuous service improvement. You will also be responsible for building and managing a small team.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Assess user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available tools• Focal point for communicating related system problems within department and collaborate with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes and updates• Manage the release process for applications, including effective department wide and end user communication• Manages test scripts and identifies opportunities for improvement• Negotiate resolution of conflicting requirements across departments• Manage and deliver Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance and enhancement tickets raised by end users for assigned applications• Develop relevant metrics, measures and publish the performance of the services provided and enable continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups• Work closely with all other IT Management in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies• Assist with preparation for budget for IT systems and services, related interfaces and applications• Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in the area of application integration in the industry and maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives• Prepare analysis and / or proposals for other departments, when necessary• Serves as an internal consultant to other IT staff and Operations community as needed• Assist in budget preparation, and monitor expenditure within IT, taking action to contain costs as appropriate.• Liaising regularly with all Supply Chain staff and other Super Users across the site.• Comply with all HSE requirements (Business and IT related, e.g.: policies & procedures and conduct safety audits
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:• Degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required, with demonstrable experience in IT business systems (preferably gained within the manufacturing industry)• A good understanding of cGMP compliance and validation• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to create and maintain Good working relationships• Organisational, Facilitation and project management skills• Manage competing work priorities and tasks efficiently and effectivelyDetails of Package: Up to: £60,000 PA + Day Shift Monday to Friday 37 Hrs
